Dear Student:

Welcome to Hunter-Kinard-Tyler Middle School.  We hope that your two years with us will be educationally profitable for you.

Middle school is a time of change.  The workload and social adjustments are greater here that at the elementary level.  You will be expected to attend school regularly, complete all assignments, and behave appropriately.  Your year will be exciting and filled with many new opportunities. 

Attached you will find several important sources of information which will be discussed at the required parent/student orientation scheduled for 7:00, August 13, 2009 in the school's cafeteria.  Your parent or guardian must complete the emergency contact form, and you must bring it with you at orientation.  This is imperative.  Completion of the form is a school requirement.

Read all items carefully.  Students are responsible for knowing the contents attached.  In addition, you will be expected to go directly to your homeroom as soon as arrive at school on the first day of school.  The entrance to the middle school is to the left as you exit your bus. You will receive updated individual class schedules and other important information in your homeroom class.

Good luck in your first year at H-K-T Middle School.  We hope it will be your most successful year ever.
